Meeting in Czech Republic

June 6-10

The second and the last Transnational project meeting this school year was organised in  Základní škola in Hradec Králo, Czech Republic. 12 participants (principals, their deputies and project coordinators) from Slovakia, Spain, Lithuania and the host country Czech Republic have gathered there to accomplish final tasks of the first year of our collaboration. During the 4 Learning meetings (job shadowing) participants observed CLIL lessons and evaluated them. The final evaluation results were introduced to school heads during this project meeting. It was a great information source for further improvements of CLIL lessons to be done  in their schools. This feedback will help all teachers to find out their strengths and weaknesses teaching CLIL lessons.

During this Transnational meeting the results of the first year of our collaboration were also evaluated, lots of questions discussed, proposals for further collaboration introduced.

The organisers prepared an excellent programme. School principals had a chance to observe CLIL lessons at their school. The organisers had arranged the meeting with Education Authorities in Hradec Králové -  Ing. Alena Synková, the head of the Department of Education of the city administration. The round-table discussion at Hradec Králové University about CLIL was extreemly useful. The head of English Department of Pedagogical Faculty  Mrs. Olga Vraštilová helped us to widen our horizons about CLIL. It was a great opportunity to know the results of several thesis surveys about the situation of CLIL, training programmes provided in this region.

After a very productive week, devided work and responsibilities all participants left the school feeling very grateful for the shown hospitality. Next school year will be very intensive as all participants are going to work on preparing ready-use Education material, planning, strategy and tools  for CLIL education  at pre-primary, primary and  lower secondary schools.
