Meeting in Slovakia
On March 7-11, Základná škola s materskou školou F. J. Fugu Vinné was hosting 6 teachers from Spain, Lithuania and Czech Republic. The teachers were observing lessons with applied CLIL method. Project coordinating school believes and always emphasizes that the application of this innovative teaching method and its techniques increase learner's motivation. So the school teachers start using this method already in pre-primary classes. This school has gained experience teaching CLIL in previous projects, so the participants got a great opportunity to shadow school teachers in different subjects, classes and even after-school activities.
During this visit, the participants together with all school teachers took part in organized workshop. CLIL theoretical basis was introduced in practice by lecturer on CLIL - Daniela Krajnakova from Macmillan Slovakia. During the session all teachers had planned their lessons using provided different ready-to -use material from Macmillan platform.
Participants were also welcomed by Mayor of Vinné Municipality Mr. Marián Makeľ and Education Authority Mrs. Zdenka Hlaváčová. As project coordinator Mrs. Slavka Pastelakova is a member of Methodological and Pedagogical Centre in Kosice, she organized a meeting with Head of this Centre - Dr. Alica Dragulava, and two teacher trainers - Maria Durcekova, Dagmar Ctvrtnickova. Despite a short meeting, participants had an opportunity to spend an afternoon with experts discussing not only about application of CLIL method but also gaining a general point of view of schools, teachers training in Košice district, recent basic changes in Education, and not only.
